Three years ago, in 2016, Global Expo Services joined IELA, the International Exhibition Logistics Association. IELA is one of the most prestigious international trade associations for event and exhibition logistics companies with a proven track-record in their particular area of expertise. « First and foremost, to be part of IELA is the recognition of our skills and know-how by the other members of this association, » says Jérôme Perrin, CEO of Global Expo Services. In order to become a member, every applicant must be supported by at least three IELA members following which the application is reviewed by the membership working group and then approved (or rejected) by the board of management. Jérôme continues: « The full application process took 2 months, so when we finally got the news that we were accepted, it was a proud moment. We might have opened a bottle or two of champagne to celebrate… »

Once a year, all IELA members meet at an international congress which takes place in a different part of the globe each time. Visitors can attend conferences and presentations about the latest developments in the trade fair and exhibition industry. « There are also networking sessions that are very useful. The meetings are usually set up in advance, so you don’t lose time looking for contacts during the event says Jérôme.

« IELA opened so many doors for us, » he explains. « This network enables us to meet new agents and exchange ideas and best practices with our peers from different parts of the world. To be part of IELA is a real international recognition of our trade, invaluable in today’s business world. »

The 34th IELA congress has just finished in Venice (Italy) and took place from June 23-26 for members. Jérôme Perrin, Véronique Barlay and Sandra Ruppé, have just returned from another successful IELA congress where they met with clients and partners.
